Adventure Activity Days Out

Adventure Activity Days Out

There is a huge choice of activities for groups and families in Snowdonia, ranging from fun days out to full-on thrill rides and everything in between.

Zip World Velocity is the longest zip line in Europe and the fastest in the world! It soars for a mile over the Penrhyn Quarry in Bethesda, which was once the biggest quarry in the world. Zip World Titan is the only 4 person zip line in Europe, with three runs, each getting progressively faster.

Deep inside the Llechwedd slate caverns, in a massive underground chamber, is the world’s most extraordinary bouncing experience – Bounce Below. Three huge trampolines have been set up, one above the other, all connected with slides and ladders, and lit by a series of multi-coloured lights for a truly unique experience.

Surf Snowdonia is a fresh-water lagoon, roughly the size of six football pitches, set in the Conwy Valley. With a powerful head-high wave that rises at the centre of the lagoon, peels perfectly for more than 150 metres, the Surf Snowdonia Adventure Parc is a revolutionary world-first inland surf lagoon.

The Llechwedd Slate Caverns themselves are well worth a visit boasting a world famous underground slate tour, as are the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways. The Ffestiniog Railway is the world’s oldest narrow gauge railway, taking you on a 13½-mile journey from the harbour in Porthmadog to the slate-quarrying town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. The Welsh Highland Railway is the UK’s longest heritage railway and runs for 25 miles from Caernarfon, past the foot of Snowdon and the picture postcard village of Beddgelert, then through the stunning Aberglaslyn Pass and on to Porthmadog.

There are also many museums and galleries such as the Airworld Aviation Museum in nearby Dinas Dinlle and the National Slate Museum in Llanberis.
